About the event
Researchers have more opportunities for publishing than ever. However, with so many journals to choose from, and several different ranking systems – how can researchers ensure they are making an informed decision about where to publish? This session will introduce a range of tools that can assist with evaluating academic journals and unsolicited invitations to publish as part of a strategic publishing plan.
Who should attend
This workshop is targeted at researchers, Higher Degree by Research students, and professional research support staff.
Objectives
- Explore different techniques for identifying relevant journals
- Discuss techniques for evaluating journal quality by verifying claims with additional resources
- Learn how to use journal lists and their limitations
- Discuss options for assessing the quality of book publishers
