Open Access publishing essentials

Event details

About the event

Publishing with Open Access (OA) has many benefits – it enables public access to research, often results in more citations, and helps researchers comply with the requirements of their funding.

There are several options for making publications OA as part of your strategic publishing plan – two popular choices being Gold (immediate OA through the publisher, often for a fee), and Green (making an approved version of a publication openly accessible for free in a repository, such as Deakin Research Online (DRO)).

The beginning of 2022 has also seen several new Read and Publish agreements for Hybrid OA journals become available. What do researchers need to know to help them make an informed decision about their OA options?
