Event
Critical Librarianship information session
About the event
Critical Librarianship questions power and challenges the ‘traditional library model’ and its inherent bias, with the goal of dismantling inequalities and empowering communities. It entails applying critical thinking lenses to library practices.
Gallery, Library, Archives and Museum practitioners are warmly invited to join Deakin Library staff for a presentation on Critical Librarianship by Emilia Bell. Emilia will discuss the idea of libraries as social actors with agency and how our professional practice is informed by our values.
