Deakin Centre for Contemporary Histories presents an online seminar with Dr Anna Kent: International education in the Deakin Archives – stories from the Margaret Cameron Residency

Anna Kent was awarded the inaugural Margaret Cameron Deakin Library Residency in 2025. Her project focused on the history of international education at Deakin. Anna spent time in the archives looking at documents relating to international education at Deakin, from student recruitment, alumni and managing an international office. This seminar will include several examples of documents found in the archives. It will be a discussion of what this research can tell us about international education at Deakin, but also in Australia, then, and now.

Dr Anna Kent is a historian of international education. In 2025 she was the inaugural recipient of the Margret Cameron Residency at the Deakin Library. She was also a 2025 National Library Fellow. Anna works as a researcher and consultant in international education and history. She is a long time member of the CCH.
