Event
Open Access Hackathon: Workshopping wicked problems collaboratively
About the event
Researchers, including PhD candidates, are invited to a collaborative workshop to co-create solutions to the “wicked problem” of community over commercialisation in Open Access. Over the course of 2 hours, participants will engage in a series of “Liberating Structures”, which are unique ways of creatively engaging people through collaborative problem-solving activities. We will explore themes such as balancing the reward and recognition paradigm with the desire to make knowledge openly accessible, and empowering the academic community to be a part of the change they want to see in academia. This workshop is a unique opportunity to contribute ideas to the Deakin Open Access Taskforce.
Spaces are limited. In order to ensure attendance from a broad range of Deakin staff, please register via Eventbrite to express your interest and the Library will contact you to confirm your participation closer to the event.
This session includes morning tea at 9:30am, the workshop from 10 - 12pm, followed by lunch.
